Coding control unit
With the aid of the coding program the following steps are run through for the vehicle voltage control unit 2 -J520:
The coding of the control unit is read.
You can then code the control unit with the code readout
or select the equipment specifications required for coding for the vehicle voltage control unit 2 -J520 when your control unit is recoded or if it was incorrectly coded.
Then you automatically get the code number
and can recode the control unit.
Preconditions:
Diagnostic wire VAS 5051/5A or 5051/6A
Required tools:
None
The five-digit code is composed as follows:

With automatic gearbox (term. 58D) |
2 X X X X : |
With manual gearbox (without term.58D) |
0 X X X : |
Without heated wiper fluid reservoir |
1 X X X : |
With heated wiper fluid reservoir |
0 X X : |
Without headlight washer system |
1 X X : |
With headlight washer system |
0 X : |
Without garage door opener |
1 X : |
With garage door opener |
1 : |
Without Servotronic |
2 : |

Abbreviations:
HWS -> Headlight washer system
UGDO -> Garage door opener
Coding example: 20100
With manual gearbox, without heated wiper/wash fluid reservoir, with headlight washer system, without garage door opener, without Servotronic
With the aid of the adaption program the following steps are run through for the vehicle voltage control unit 2 -J520:
Vehicle with lowline equipment:
Adapt MMI
Vehicle with highline equipment:
Adapt MMI
Adapt headlight washer system
Adapt country code
Adapt garage door opener
Preconditions:
Diagnostic wire VAS 5051/5A or 5051/6A
Required tools:
None
Adaption:
MMI adaption:
Channel 1 MMI timeout (0...1000 / 0 - 10.00 sec)
Channel 2 MMI run-on time (0...255 / 0 2.55 sec)
Channel 3 MMI activation voltage run-on run-in (0...200 / 0 - 20 V)
Channel 4 MMI activation voltage run-on run-out (0...200 / 0 - 20 V)
Channel 5 MMI delay HWS (0...200 / 0 - 20 V)
HWS adaption:
Channel 6 HWS activation delay time/HWS pump activation times:
Channel 7 T3 / T12 0...255 0 - 2.55 sec
Channel 8 T4 / T13 0...255 0 - 2.55 sec
Channel 9 T7 / T16 0...255 0 - 2.55 sec
The times T5, T6, T10, T14 and T15 cannot be changed by way of adaption. The time T9 = T18 is calculated from T9 = (T2 + T6 + T8) - (T3+ T4 +T5 + T7)
If T9 < 0, then T8 = T8 - T9 and T9 = 0.
Otherwise the pump and nozzle run asynchronously!
HWS pop-up washer jet motor activation times:
Channel 10 T2 / T11 0...255 0 - 5.1 sec
Channel 11 T8 / T17 0...255 0 - 5.1 sec
Country code:
Channel 50
1 = Germany
2 = France
3 =UK
4 = Italy
5 = undefined
6 = undefined
7 = open frequency
UGDO learning values:
Channel 51
1 = Clear all channels
2 = Learn mode channel 1
3 = Learn mode channel 2
4 = Learn mode channel 3
