Adaption channel 03:

Function: Input AutoReturn value (time span to automatic closing of MMI notification menus).

 

 

Adaption channel 04:

Function: Input speed threshold (speed above which the Car menu and one-touch memory teach-in functions are shut off).

 

 

Adaption channel 05:  - only as from (*1)

Function: Input speed delta (delta above which the Car menu and one-touch memory teach-in functions are reactivated; e.g. speed threshold = 15 km/h, speed delta = 5 km/h -> shut-off at 15 Km/h, activation at 10 km/h).

 

 

Adaption channel 06:  - only as from (*2)

Function: Input MMI run-on time (time span between switching off and automatic shutdown of MMI).

Note

on fingerprint:

The driver identification control unit -J589 (Fingerprint) has been revised. Consequently, alongside the old fingerprint version there is now also the  new fingerprint. This adaption channel programs which fingerprint is fitted in the vehicle. This can be ascertained by way of the hardware part number of the driver identification control unit -J589:

Old fingerprint: HW part numbers 4E1905218, 4E2905218, 4E1905218A, 4E2905218A

New fingerprint: Otherwise (from HW part numbers 4E1905218B, 4E2905218B, ...)

 

Adaption channel 12:  - only as from (*2)

Function: Input telephone type

 

Value =    0: Built-in telephone / mobile phone prefitting / Bluetooth carphone  not fitted

               1: Built-in telephone or Bluetooth carphone no longer as from (*8)fitted

               2: Mobile phone prefitting or Bluetooth carphone only as from (*8)fitted

 

 

Adaption channel 13: - only as from (*7)

Function: MMI system expanded to include control units using a different communication protocol

Adaption channel 14: - only as from (*7)

Function: Adapt radio remote control for MMI

Precondition: The adaption is only possible if an operating unit with an enabled radio receiver is fitted.

 

The value of the adaption channel includes the number of the remote control and the first 3 digits of your serial number.

Example:

1. Remote control serial number 0000001 -> adaption value 1000

2. Remote control serial number 1012345 -> adaption value 2101

 

After this adaption channel adaption channel 15 must be called up!

 

 

Adaption channel 15: - only as from (*7)

Function: Adapt radio remote control for MMI

 

Precondition: The adaption is only possible if an operating unit with an enabled radio receiver is fitted.

 

The value of the adaption channel includes the last 4 digits of the serial number of the remote control being adapted.

Example:

1. Remote control serial number 0000001 -> adaption value 0001

2. Remote control serial number 1012345 -> adaption value 2345

 

Before this adaption channel adaption channel 14 must be called up!

If 2 remote controls are to be adapted, start again with adaption channel 14.

 

 

Adaption channel 16: - only as from (*4)

Function: Input start screen Time MMI off -> MMI on (Time during which the start screen is displayed on the MMI; after switch-on, if MMI was off).

Adaption channel 17: - only as from (*4)

Function: Input start screen Time MMI standby -> MMI on (Time during which the start screen is displayed on the MMI; after switch-on, if MMI was in standby mode).

 

Adaption channel 20: - only as from (*6)

Function: Input of time during which the visual parking aid is shown in the rear-view camera system picture. (default = 3 seconds)

 

Adaption channel 21: - only as from (*6)

Function: Input of distance (number of segments) as from which the visual parking aid is shown in the rear-view camera system picture when an obstacle is detected.

(Permissible value range: 0 to 12 segments

No display: 0 segments

Always show: 12 segments

Default: 11 segments)

 

Adaption channel 63:  - only as from (*1)

Function: Input of speed threshold for TV picture (vehicle speed above which no TV picture is displayed).

 

Adaption channel 64:

Function: Change operating unit search illumination brightness (The change is not stored in the control unit).

 

 

Adaption channel 65:

Function: Change operating unit function illumination brightness (The change is not stored in the control unit).

 

 

Adaption channel 66:

Function: Open/close MMI display.

 

 

Adaption channel 67:

Function: Change MMI display illumination brightness (The change is not stored in the control unit).

 

 

Adaption channel 68:

Function: Show test picture on MMI display.

Possible test images: Red, green, blue, white, black, chessboard (black/white), chessboard (inverted), 64 halftones (vertical bars).

 

 

Adaption channel 70:   - only as from (*3)

Function: For the new fingerprint (see adaption channel 11) the CAR menu enables the 4 users to protect their personal settings by means of a 4-digit PIN.

With this channel the user PIN can be reset to 0000.

Note

In order to clear taught-in fingers/users, the  adaption of the driver identification control unit -J589must be performed.

 

Adaption channel 96:

Function: Reduce transmission power of optical bus by half (The change is not stored in the control unit).

 

 

Adaption channel 111:  - only as from (*2)

Function: MMI system restart is performed to activate recoded or adapted values.
