The Upgrade procedure
Unload your CD player of all disks
The Audi manual on this says that a backup power source should be connected to your battery, instead of this most people just leave the engine running.
Warning: Do not use any electrical device while this process is running, so get comfortable first before you begin.
Load the first disk in to slot 1
wait 30 secs or so and start up the mmi, Press Return and Setup on your center console together.
Keep both pressed until you see the Current Config Menu
On Screen , bottom left you will see SWUpdate, Press the lower right button around the main control knowb
You should now be given an option (usually only 1 option to select the Download Server
Press the centre knob to confirm that you want to use the CD for the update
The MMI will confirm with "Reading Meta Information"
You will now see a list of all the devices that the MMI beleives need to be updated. At this point you can make a selection if you want to particulaly update only 1 device, however we will accept the default and scroll down to Start Download
Press The Center knob when Start Download is highlighted
You will now be promted not to use any electrical devices
then a progress report
This will tell you how many devices where updated and if the update was succesfull
Scroll down the list to make sure all were OK, if any failed , you can follow the prompt to try it individually again.
Once completed , scroll to the bottom and select Restart MMI
Remove the disk and place the next disk in,
Start the whole procedure again for each disk
You may find that dependant on your current version Disk 2 may not have any updates on it for you. Dont worry about this , just continue to the next disk
